Upon arrival Hanoi airport, transfer to your hotel (check in time is 14h00). After that, your guide will meet you at the hotel for a city tour of Hanoi. Your first stop will be the popular Hoan Kiem Lake, situated in the heart of Hanoi city and Dong Xuan market. Your next stop will be Ho Chi Minh complex comprising Ba Dinh Square, Presidential Palace (for outside photos), as well as his private residence from 1954 until 1969. The wooden ethnic minority style house, built on stilts, is surrounded by lovely peaceful gardens. In the same complex you will see the One Pillar Pagoda, founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049. This structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. We will continue on to the Temple Of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. Constructed in 1070, the gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past. The last stop of the day, before returning to your hotel, will be the visit of the Opera House. We will end the tour with a sip of traditional Vietnamese coffee.
6:30–7:00 Our Limousine shuttle bus will pick you up at your hotel for Sapa. After 5.5 hour drive you will arrive Sapa. Check in hotel. Our guide will meet you at your hotel then go to the local restaurant for lunch before starting half day tour to the village. You will commence your short journey by driving south toward Muong Hoa valley. You will then start your walk by descending into the valley, which is the largest rice paddy terraced among the Sapa area. The guide can provide you interesting information about rice. If you visit the valley sometime between May and October, you will be able to observe and experience how the local do planting and harvesting, one of the most important activities in the daily life. The walk takes you from Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority to Ta Van village of Giay minority. Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigo blue clothing. Giay is a fairly small minority group of about 38,000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green color. The Giay’s houses are built of wood and bamboo with a clay floor. After visiting Ta Van, the car will return you to Sapa. Approx: 1 hour driving / 2 hours walking.
